What We Do

Policy Representation

We ensure QLRs voices are heard in government, through Ministry of Justice consultations, and across the legal sector. AQLR advocates for fair pay, earlier appointments, and clarity in statutory guidance.

Community & Networking

We bring together QLRs across England and Wales to share knowledge, experiences and mutual support. Members benefit from discussion forums, webinars and collaborative case strategies.

Upholding Ethical Practice

We help define and protect the professional standards of QLRs, providing guidance on navigating the unique ethical boundaries of the role and supporting members facing professional dilemmas.

Continuous Professional Development (CPD)

AQLR delivers training designed specifically for QLRs:

  • Trauma-informed cross-examination
  • Handling unrepresented parties
  • Working with vulnerable witnesses
  • Evidence management in family and criminal courts
